The spirit in the art
For me, art is not art unless it possesses some form of spirit. It's like allowing the soul to speak for itself. "God Breathes" is a collection of art inspired by the music and spirit of John Coltrane. I grew up in the same place he did, High Point, North Carolina. I'm guessing that a part of his spirit is still here. Well I know it is or else I would have never been able to finish this series. I cannot begin to tell you how many encounters we've had. Sometimes I laughed and many times I cried. Not always sure why I did, but it was an amazing experience. John Coltrane. I met him a couple of years ago. He was 78 years old.
